Kiss Paul Francis

This is Paul Francis.

Paul, 1st generation American, born from Colombian and British parents in Philadelphia. Paul, who is 28 years old, eventually moved to Miami Beach, Where he started his career as model/actor as well as a dancer in several professional performances. Paul’s whole life has been a chain of creative expressions. He has been drawing since he was 3, dancing since he was 8, acting since he was 16 and modeling – only – since he was 25. He actually never thought he would end up modeling, but since it is another medium of performance for him, it totally fits his character and ambition.

This is Levi Poulter.

It was the modeling work that brought Paul Francis to Europe. For 2,5 months he lived and worked in Athens, and moved to Barcelona after that where he settled down for another 4 months. Irony has it that it was here when he met Levi Poulter for the first time, even though Levi lives in Miami, like Paul at the time. There was an instant connection between the two sexy men, even though their meeting was brief, and when they unexpectedly met again at a fashion event in Miami, they decided to do a project together.




If you are familiar with David Vance’s work you know the man has a talent for creating magical photo moments, and that is exactly what he did with this series featuring Paul and Levi. Kissing Paul really was Levi's idea to begin with. And can you blame him? The shots are most natural and breath a relaxing and exciting atmosphere, almost as if they were snap shots of an intimate encounter between two hot guys. Paul and Levi seem so into it, that you almost wonder if that last shot really was the end of the session. We just can not decide who we envy most: Levi or Paul, for obvious reasons, or David for being able to capture it all. –B-

Peter Lindbergh（彼得·林德伯格），时装摄影界如雷贯耳的响亮名字，世界上最著名的时装摄影师之一，其作品风格被广泛效仿但无人能及，作品中80％为 黑白摄影，被誉为"最伟大的黑白照摄影师第一人"和"魔力诗人"。自1978年Stern杂志刊登由他拍摄的一组长达14页的时装摄影而一炮打响以来，他 的作品横扫全球所有主要的国际时装杂志，世界上最著名的设计师们争相邀请他为他们的时装广告掌镜。Peter以德国人固有的理性，将时尚中所有的虚无与矫 饰几乎涤荡殆尽，只剩直白、沉着和简洁的时装照片，成为时装摄影史上绝不容忽视的重量级人物。

1944年，Lindbergh出生于靠近波兰边境的刚战败不久的东德，童年则在西德一个叫做Duisburg（杜伊斯 堡）的小镇度过。Duisburg地处鲁尔煤矿的中心地带，是一个发展中的重工业中心。抚养他长大的叔叔，是一个拥有三千只羊的农场主，他在莱茵河畔租了 一块土地，而这里，就成为Lindbergh童年时代的乐园。他在这个一边是茵茵绿草和树林，另一边则是密密麻麻的工厂和船只停泊的码头的河边，度过了几 乎所有童年时代的课余时光。

而正是这些童年生活中每时每刻出现于眼前的影像，对Lindbergh有着很深的影响。摄影史学家Martin Harrison注意到："Lindbergh摄影中的模特总是与身后光秃秃的树干、破败的工厂和洒满煤屑的路面形成鲜明的对比，似乎影射出他的某种身 世，这中感觉也似乎贯穿在他大量的作品中。"的确，二战后萧条的德国给彼得留下了不可磨灭的印象。在他于1988年为Comme des Garcons川久葆玲拍摄的时装广告中，其背景也是一片破败的工厂建筑。

对此Lindbergh 毫不讳言："我的确比较喜欢拍摄有机器和厂房的照片，由著名导演Lang、Pabst等拍摄的表现德国传统的表现主义黑白电影对我也颇有影响，我还喜欢阅 读马亚科夫斯基和早期恶果革命先锋艺术的书……"如此看来，生来具有德国人理性意识的彼得，尽管从事感性的时装摄影工作，灵感也总是来源于他本能中的传统 意识，他以其独特的方式对待时装，模特还有裸体……

在这种理性意识的引导下，Lindbergh作品就像当代生活的一面镜子。American Photo（《美国摄影》）杂志这样描述他的作品："Peter Lindbergh的作品最重要特性就是直白。模特在他面前总是那么坦然和真实，这是一种令人惊讶的真实，因为时装摄影也可以如此没有人工与虚饰的成份。"Lindbergh用时装摄影为表达方式向人们展示出，他所走过的每个时代的政治、经济和文化，正发生着怎样的变更。

1973年，27岁才第一次拿起照相机的Peter Lindbergh，成为广告摄影师Hans Lux的助手。两年后，他以一个独立广告摄影师的身份出现。而成为时装摄影师的机会带有传奇色彩，拍了五年广告之后的1978年，"一个杂志社的编辑说我 拍的广告根本不像广告，他给了我一个故事情节，让我用时装摄影来拍，这就是后来Stern杂志刊登的那14页。"那是他第一次拍摄时装摄影，然而正是那 14页叙述式的摄影作品，引起了时尚界的轰动，从此Lindbergh便一发而不可收拾，成为每个杂志社都不可抗拒的"抢手货"。

他的作品登上包括意大利、法国以及美国版的VOGUE、W、《纽约人》、《名利场》、Stern以及《滚石》在内的各大著名时尚杂志。1992年，Harper's Bazaar与他签约，此事在时装界颇受瞩目，Lindbergh从此身价倍增。此后的五年中，他的大量作品出现在Bazaar杂志上。时至今日，他已为世界上最重要的欧美设计师拍摄时装广告，Giorgio Armani, Prada, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Jil Sander和Hugo Boss等都是他的老主顾。

1996年，Lindbergh出版了他的第一本黑白色调的影集《十女人》（Ten Women），收录了他为当时十个顶级名模拍摄的115幅时装硬照，并由Karl Lagerfeld为之作序，一经上市便卖出九万余本。他的第二本影集《Images of Women》也于1997年发行，这是他80年代中期到90年代中期的作品精选集。伦敦Independent Sunday Review杂志的Ian Phillips称这是一本非常棒的影集，将Lindbergh评价为"世界上最出色的时尚摄影师"。1999年四月底，Editions Assouline出版社又出版了一本Lindbergh最新作品的精选集，在欧美发行。

Lindbergh还是一位卓越的电视时装广告片导演。他所拍摄的广告片，包括用苏菲·玛索拍摄法国娇兰的"Champs-Elys's"香水、用Christy Turlington拍摄CK的" Eternity" 香水、用Linda Evangelista拍摄Jil Sander的 "No.4"香水、用Linda拍摄 Giorgio Armani 的"Gio"香水、用Isabella Rossellin拍摄Coty的 "Manifesto"，以及用Daryl Hannah来拍摄Karl Lagerfeld的"Sun Moon Stars" 香水。

此外，他执导的第一部电影"Models-The Film"于1991年在纽约拍摄，和 Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Tatjana Patitz、Stephanie Seymour等超级名模合作。

不单与名师、名品和名模合作，很多名人也都曾站在Lindbergh的镜头前，包括前美国总统夫人希拉里，莎朗·斯通、布拉德·彼特、 Ashley Judd、乌玛·瑟曼、麦当娜和Tina Turner等。

何谓大师？世界如此多彩，而他只取两色，黑与白，就能洞悉所有。准确犀利的捕捉模特内心和富有沉着镇定气质的画面，Peter Lindbergh总能以其层出不穷的创造力令我们拍案叫绝。

所获奖项：

1987年，获得纽约时尚摄影师的最高成就奖"夜之星"（Night of Stars）。

1990年，巴塞罗那国际时装摄影师大赛，金奖。

1994年，因拍摄"Madonna Makes Dance"而获美国设计师出版协会大奖。

在巴黎获得时尚大奖的最佳摄影师奖。

1995年，在德国柏林，获得Raymond Loewy基金会大奖，这是欧洲最重要的设计荣誉大奖成为德国艺术导演俱乐部年度荣誉成员。

1996年，再次被授予Raymond Loewy基金会大奖。

1997年，在巴黎再次获得时尚大奖的最佳摄影师奖。

Justin Monroe 2008 Art Gay

Justin Monroe是一位名在美国加州洛杉矶发展的摄影师。他为很多时尚杂志拍摄大片，这其中也包含同志杂志。Justin出身在一个艺术氛围浓厚的家庭，父母是音乐家和画家。小时候的他很喜欢戏剧表演，这也一直影响了他现在的摄影作品，他喜欢用影象来表现戏剧的张力。

他的摄影其实涉及了很多主题，但他在挖掘表现深层次的欲望方面最让人震撼。Fetish, Domination and Submission都是擅长的话题。尤其值得注意的作品中体现出来的让人血脉喷张的性感张力。

在接受Beautiful的专访是他自己也说：“I want to create a sense of hyper sensation. I think of
an image doesn’t evoke an emotional response, it is useless to me. I like my
images to speak to the viewer. Sex. Anger. Humor. Etc…”
